Wyndham Merida

Attended a course and rented the meeting room and also stayed there. Although I suffered some service issues at breakfast, service in general was very attentive. Rooms not as clean as before and seem outdated. Meeting room was ok but maybe need to use larger tables because 3 people cannot sit comfortably at each meeting table. Coffee service was ok. Some of the sodas exceeded the recommended consumption date. But the coffee and snacks were fine.

This hotel is very far from colonial downtown (we did the walk. Took us over an hour). Room was very small for our family (2 kids, my wife and I). And no small fridge inside the room (if you have kids, you need a mini fridge to keep some milk, water and snack). We thought this hotel is expensive for what you get. But it was a cute hotel and people working there are extremely nice.

I stay here often because of the location and the staff. Bianca is so friendly and helpful! She always has a smile on her face and a pleasant attitude, and it's also nice being bilingual!

This review is from my experience as an American who booked this hotel through hotels.com and stayed 5 nights. Pros: We had great wifi our entire stay. Water was hot, and there’s a switch you have to push to turn the water heater on. Room was clean upon arriving. Bed was very comfortable. The room included a working safe to store valuables. Thermostat was great and we could control our temperature in our room well. The hotel is in a really nice location. It’s right next to the historic downtown but not directly in it. This is great because it means you can actually get sleep (the main historic area can get a little loud at night near the bars). The pool and courtyard are beautiful. They have a spa, knock-off Starbucks, and restaurant in the hotel. The hotel has modern rooms while the front entrance is a repurposed historic mansion! Very neat. Cons: Tipping culture in Merida is big and it carries over into the hotel. At times it feels the staff are only nice to get tips. Expect to tip for daily room cleaning and when they first show you around your room. There was a slight sewer odor in the courtyard area. Not sure where it was coming from. Not all rooms are created equal. Some face the courtyard while others face the backside of walls. All in all, this was a very enjoyable stay. The cons are very small (to me) and if I visit Merida again I will definitely stay here.

Everyone was very kind and welcoming! Our bellman explained everything about the property and opening and closing times of all the things offered. Parking was the only thing that was a little sparse, but everything else about the hotel was perfect!

The staff was amazing at the Wyndham Merida. Everyone from the front desk, restaurant service, housekeeping, bellmen, concierge, and management greeted me and my family with a smile and buenos dias every time they saw us out and about. The room was a little small, but the service way over compensated for the small time we were in our rooms. Thank-You for a terrific stay!

I feel like the rooms could've been slightly cleaner (there was a used water bottle and a lot of stray hairs in my room) but overall decent stay for the money. Staff was super polite and nice the Starbucks was appreciated for the days I just needed to grab something quick before being out all day

Close to paseo de Montejo. Staff was super helpful. A small fridge and a microwave in the room wouldnt hurt. We had one/two small issues with safe ... don't use it.
